Udawalawa National Park Day Tour
A Udawalawa National Park day tour typically starts early in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel in Colombo or Negombo. You will then be driven to the park which is around a 3-4 hours drive from these areas.
The Udawalawe National Park was established to provide a safe sanctuary for the wild animals displaced by the construction of the reservoir on the Walawe Ganga (River).
Now one of the 3 most visited national parks in Sri Lanka, Udawalawe attracts hordes of elephants thanks to the reservoir. It is also called home to a variety of other species of wild life, such as sambar deers, wild boars, water buffaloes, spotted deers, Crocodiles and if you lucky enough the elusive Leopards.
The park is also an excellent bird watching site, with a variety of migratory birds.
The safari is usually around 3-4 hours long and will take you through the park's diverse landscapes including grasslands, forests, and wetlands.
After the safari, you will return to your hotel, arriving in the late Evening.
